Scriptures
📖 Romans 12:2-8 (NET) – Renew your mind to discern the will of God.
📖 Psalm 23 – The Lord is our shepherd; we lack nothing.
📖 Philippians 4:11-13 – Learning contentment and relying on Christ's strength.
Summary
Fear is natural, but faith is a choice. We often struggle with faith because of past disappointments, abandonment, and rejection. Fear keeps us immobilized, while faith requires action. Transformation from fear to faith begins with renewing the mind, trusting God, and shifting our perspective.
Key Thought: Fear is misdirected faith—trusting in a negative outcome instead of God’s promises.
Main Points: How to Shift from Fear to Faith
POINT 1: You need Shifted Speech – Speak Faith, Not Fear
Your words have power. Philippians 4:13 reminds us: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Replace “I can’t” with “I can” and declare God’s promises over your life.
The enemy whispers fear, but we counter it by speaking truth – “God has never failed me!”
🗣 Declaration: “I CAN do all things through Christ!”
POINT 2: You need Spiritual Sobriety – Think Clearly, Recognize Fear for What It Is
Romans 12:3 – Be honest about your fears and acknowledge them instead of pretending they don’t exist.
2 Timothy 1:7 – God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.
Fear intoxicates the mind, leading to confusion and inaction. Faith sobers us up to think and act in alignment with God’s promises.
🗣 Declaration: “Fear has no place in my life—I have power, love, and a sound mind!”
POINT 3: You need Strategic Surrender – Trust God and Let Him Lead
Psalm 23:1 – “The Lord is my shepherd; I lack nothing.”
When we surrender control, we allow God to work beyond what we can see.
True faith is declaring: “I may not know how, but I know God has it under control!”
🗣 Declaration: “Lord, have Your way in my life!”
Point to Ponder / Devotional Thought
Fear will always show up when faith is required. What will you do when fear knocks? Will you shrink back or step forward in faith?
This week, identify a fear that has been holding you back and replace it with a faith action.
For example, if fear makes you worry about not having enough, trust God by giving—whether it’s tithing, buying someone a meal, or simply sharing what you have with someone in need. If fear makes you hesitate to pray out loud, step out in faith by praying a short, simple prayer for someone, even if it’s just a whispered “Lord, help them.”
🙌 Prayer:
"Lord, renew my mind so that I will no longer be led by fear. Help me speak words of faith, think with a sober mind, and surrender fully to You. I declare that fear has no power over me, and I will walk in faith, trusting that You are in control. Amen!"
